| twitter: tags | Control how your link looks on X |
Best practice
- Keep titles to about 50 to 60 characters and descriptions to about 120 to 160, so they aren’t cut off.
- Write a unique title and description for every page.
- Use a share image of 1200 × 630 pixels, with important content in the middle.
- Use full URLs (starting with https://) for og:url and og:image.
Google may rewrite your title or description if it thinks something else matches the search better, but good tags make that less likely.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I put meta tags?
Inside the <head> section of your page’s HTML. On WordPress, use your SEO plugin’s settings instead.
What size should an Open Graph image be?
1200 × 630 pixels is the widely recommended size.
Do meta keywords help SEO?
No. Google ignores the meta keywords tag, so this tool doesn’t include it.
Why isn't my new share image showing?
Social sites cache previews. Use Facebook’s Sharing Debugger or LinkedIn’s Post Inspector to refresh it.
